Backward Glances

Daily News File Photograph In October 1986, a Daily News photographer took this picture of an old South Lyon Street bridge being dropped into the Tonawanda Creek. The bridge that went up after this span is closed to traffic and slated for replacement.

“Backward Glances” features pictures of years past in the four-county GLOW region of Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties.

Reader-submitted photographs are welcomed. We are interested in photographs prior to 1996, or more than 25 years ago. Photographs may be in black and white or color.
