SILVER LAKE — Get ready to bop and rock with Maddie and Tae at the Silver Lake Twin Drive-In.
Arriving Sunday, Maddie and Tae are the artists behind “Friend’s Don’t” which peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Country Airplay charts and “Die from a Broken Heart” which reached a peak of No. 2 on the U.S. country chart and -1 on Country Airplay charts. Alyssa Trahan, a native of East Rochester, whose album “Baby Blues & Stilettos” debuted at No. 9 on the iTunes country album chart, will be opening for them.
Rick Stefanon, drive-in owner, said he went through a production company called Twenty6 Productions in Buffalo to book a country show.
The Silver Lake Drive-In has had four or five sold-out concerts at the end of last year and the beginning of this year, Stefanon said. It usually had a summer concert series in the front at the Charcoal Corral close to 30 years, but once COVID put restrictions on the bigger venues, Stefanon said the Silver Lake Drive-In was able to present socially distant events based on the way the drive-in was laid out and could have concerts.
“So the bigger concerts — the national touring band concerts — started last year in August mainly due to COVID restricting the bigger venues,” he said. “The national touring bands had no place to play except for an even smaller venue like myself.”
Maddie and Tae is the last national touring act scheduled for this year right now. Stefanon said drive-in is excited to have the duo come because they’re one of the more popular country acts across the country.
The concert starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online at https://bit.ly/maddieandtaetwenty6.
