Clarkson University recognizes area students

POTSDAM — Several area students have been named Presidential Scholars for the Fall 2020 semester at Clarkson University. They include:

n Nicole Marie Ellegate of Middleport, a sophomore majoring in innovation and entrepreneurship.

n Julia Nichole George of Akron, a freshman majoring in engineering studies.

n Paige Elizabeth Haile of Batavia, a freshman majoring in biology.

n Ben Edward Slenker of Alexander, a senior majoring in chemical engineering.

n Katelyn Cyane Spierdowis of Albion, a freshman majoring in civil engineering

Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.

Also, the following local students were named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2020 semester

n Matthew L Bernard of Silver Lake, a junior majoring in chemical engineering.

n Evan Hunter Dusky of Basom, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering.

n Jake Andrew Goulet of Perry, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering.

n Colin Jacob Graham of Oakfield, a senior majoring in aeronautical engineering/mechanical engineering.

n Adam J Nobbs of Perry, a senior majoring in civil engineering.

n Jacob Perez Gangi of Elba, a junior majoring in civil engineering.

Dean’s List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.

Buffalo State students part of art exhibition

BUFFALO – Buffalo State College Art & Design students took part in the Fall 2020 Art & Design Student Exhibition. The exhibition featured student work from 100-and 200-level studio classes. Area students with work in the exhibition included McKenna Moran of Darien Center and Elizabeth Nash of Cowlesville.

2 make Hofstra dean’s list

HEMPSTEAD – Two area residents were named to the Fall 2020 Dean’s List at Hofstra University. They include Karina Rosario of Albion and Samantha Place of Brockport. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the Dean’s List.

Nazareth College announces dean’s list

ROCHESTER — Several area students were named to the Fall 2020 Dean’s List at Nazareth College.

They include: Emma Baldwin and Taylor Frasier, Jessica Granchelli, all of Medina; Ryan Barrett and Michela Hanlon, both of Kendall; Ally Benson and Kierstyn Christensen, both of Holley; Annabelle Carney of Piffard, Brianna Cooke of Attica, Kimberly Davis of Pavilion, Sarah Efing and Emily Overacker, both of Le Roy; Regan Henrici of Warsaw, Matthew Kovaleski of Albion, Lauren Reding of Oakfield, and Ryann Stefaniak of Batavia.

A student’s grade point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work to be included on the dean’s list.
