Metro Creative Genesee County Park & Forest will host a series of guided dog walks beginning May 1.

EAST BETHANY — A series of guided dog walks is scheduled at the Genesee County Park & Forest.

The first will take place today, with additional walks set for May 1, June 12 and July 10. Each will take place 10 to 11 a.m.

The guided walks are great for socialization and healthy exercise, organizers said in a news release. Those interested are asked to meet at the park’s Interpretive Nature Center.

Dogs must be on a leash at all times. A current license or proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination is required.

Aggressive dogs will not be allowed to participate, officials said.

Cost is $5 per dog and all proceeds go to the Genesee County Animal Shelter. Masks must be worn whenever unable to maintain 6 feet of social distance.

Participants are encouraged to wash their hands often or use hand sanitizer. Pre-registration is required.
