ALBION — An upcoming scavenger hunt will support youth scholarships, health education and other programming.
“Hunt Orleans” is a scavenger hunt fundraising event featuring landmarks from all around Orleans County, organizers said in a news release.
The activity will last 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 17. Participants can start and end wherever they want.
Each qualifying team will electronically receive clues to find locations throughout Orleans County. Each location will have a point value and the team with the most points at the end of the two hours will win the grand prize of $250.
Participants can take time as a team to plan their strategy for collecting the most points in two hours.
This event was developed by Orleans Community Health, Orleans County YMCA, and the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orelans County. It’s an effort to help promote and support their youth programming.
“We came together out of the desire to engage the community in a fun and safe activity during a time when we all just want to get out and play,” the organizers said.
There will be a $25 team registration fee. Those interested can sign up at www.supportoch.org/event/hunt-orleans-scavenger-hunt.
