Wyoming County Sheriff Gregory Rudolph has issued a boating advisory for Silver Lake that includes a 5 mph “No wake zone” for the entire lake.
Weekend rains and flooding has caused the lake to rise several inches and up to the docks, which can cause damage to boats and property, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The flooding has also placed debris on the lake.
Silver Lake is not closed, but the 5 mph “No wake zone” is in effect for the entire lake, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Park Police Marine Units have increased patrols monitoring the lake.
The advisory and “No wake zones” are expected to be in effect for about three days, the Sheriff’s Office said.
