CORFU — The M&T Bank branch at 1 E. Main St. will close Dec. 18, although an ATM will still be available for customers to use there.
M&T Vice President, Public Relations Manager Julia Berchou said M&T informed customers Friday of the change.
“All employees have been offered jobs at nearby M&T branches. We have no plans to close any other branches in Genesee, Livingston, Orleans or Wyoming County,” she said. “Customers who utilized the Corfu branch can bank at our Corfu ATM, our Batavia branch (located 15 minutes away at 55 Main St. in Batavia) or at any other M&T branch or ATM, via our Telephone Banking Center (1-800-724-2440), online at www.mtb.com and via our Apple and Android mobile apps.”
Team members at nearby branches are also available to meet virtually with customers, Berchou said.
“From banking online or by phone to scheduling branch appointments, customers have greater access to the bank than ever before. And because our customers’ needs and the ways they bank with us constantly change, we continually evaluate where our branches are located and how we can deliver the best value and convenience to our customers,” she said. “In some situations, we are required to make the difficult decision to consolidate offices — not only to improve our efficiency, but also to make sure that we’re located where our customers are located. We look to continue to grow and enhance our relationships with customers by investing in banking solutions that allow them to access their accounts when, where and how is most convenient for them.”
