BATAVIA — Area residents will have the chance to dispose of unwanted medications on April 24.
The Batavia Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will provide the public the opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
People can bring their pills for disposal from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Alva Place parking lot across the street from Batavia Showtime, located in the Genesee County Mall. Sharps will also be accepted at this location, as the United Memorial Medical Center will have staff on hand.
The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked. It’s asked that people adhere to COVID-19 guidelines and regulations including masks.
