SILVER LAKE — The public is welcome to review and comment on the state’s draft Sunfish and Crappie Management Plan.
The state is proposing more conservative fishing regulations, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
Elements of the plan include reducing the general statewide sunfish daily harvest limit from 50 to 25 fish. The plan would also increase the crappie statewide minimum size limit from nine to 10 inches.
But an eight-inch minimum size limit and a daily harvest limit of 15 for sunfish would be established for Silver Lake and Honeoye Lake.
Check https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/7977.html for a draft of the plan.
Comments on the draft plan may be submitted via e-mail to email@example.com or via mail to Jeff Loukmas, NYSDEC, 625 Broadway, Albany, NY 12233-4753.
It’s asked that people include “Sunfish and Crappie Management Plan” in the subject line.
Comments will be accepted through Feb. 15.
