ATTICA — Village workers will be picking up brush and yard waste on the third Monday of each month starting April 19.
The service will be provided through October. People are asked to avoid piling brush at the road until a few days before scheduled pickup — up to a maximum of seven days.
Brush that is not at curbside as of the third Monday morning will not be picked up, village officials said.
Brush consists of limbs and branches 6 inches in diameter or smaller. Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, hedge trimmings, and small sticks.
Bushes and root balls will not be picked up and must be removed by their owners. It’s asked that people keep all piles away from trees, poles and fences.
Brush does not include logs or construction material. Notices will be sent to anyone that places brush at the curb before the allowed time period.
People are always welcome to bring their brush to the refuse station anytime it’s open. Hours include 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays.
The village does not accept brush from trees cut down by the property owners or contractors.
