Batavia Society of Artists ready in-person Members’ Show

BATAVIA – The Batavia Society of Artists will be having a Members’ Art Show at GO ART!, 201 East Main St., during September and October

Teresa Tamfer, treasurer for the Society of Artists, said there will be 35 pieces by 11 artists on display.

All artists are local. The art mediums vary and there is no theme

During the opening reception on Sept. 16, patrons can vote for the People’s Choice Award.

This is the first in-person Society of Artists Members’ Show since the pandemic hit.

Tamfer said the Batavia Society of Artists is really excited about being able to hang a show and having people come in and take a look at it.

“The shows at GO ART are up for two months, which is kind of nice. It’s not just a one month show,” Tamfer said.

Normally the Society of Artists present a Members’ Show every May and December at Richmond Memorial Library, but due to the pandemic the shows haven’t taken place. The Society of Artists presented two virtual shows last December and March.

The opening reception for the Members’ Show is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 16. Tavern 2.o.1, which is inside GO ART!, will be open to the public from 4 to 9 p.m.

Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays. The show will on view through Oct. 28.
