CO2 leak closes Aldi’s

Officials wait for a state Ag & Markets official to arrive after a carbon dioxide leak temporarily closed Aldi’s in Batavia.

BATAVIA — A carbon dioxide leak caused the city’s Aldi’s store to be temporarily closed on Thursday.

City firefighters responded at 3:29 p.m. for a report of carbon dioxide leaking from a refrigerator unit, officials at the scene said. Officials were waiting for a state Ag & Markets official to arrive so the store could reopen.

Aldi’s is located at 587 East Main St.
