BATAVIA — A Batavia woman arrested twice in a year for dealing drugs was sentenced to a two-year prison term Tuesday in Genesee County Court.
Angela R. Bateman, 46, of West Main Street Road will serve her time as shock incarceration. Shock incarceration allows non-violent offenders to be release early if they participate successfully in drug treatment programs.
Judge Charles Zambito also sentenced Bateman to three years of post-release supervision.
Bateman was arrested following a Genesee County Drug Task Force investigation into the sales of drugs from a residence on Hutchins Place in August 2020.
She was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession with intent to sell and later was charged with promoting prison contraband after jail officers found her in possession of fentanyl.
Bateman also was arrested for dealing crack cocaine in 2019 and in 2007. The outcome of those cases was not available but she did not serve any prison time.
