A grain silo at Lamb Farms was knocked over after being struck by a truck on Tuesday night.

OAKFIELD — A Lyndonville man was injured in a freak accident which knocked over a grain silo Tuesday at Lamb Farms, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.

Gregory S. Gilbert, 40, was westbound at 7:02 p.m. on Route 63 when he began choking on his coffee, according to deputies.

Deputies said Gilbert was unsure if he lost consciousness, but his vehicle, a Ford pickup truck, went off the south shoulder and hit a shrub.

Gilbert’s vehicle then continued onward and hit the silo and a propane tank before stopping. The silo was knocked over and fire crews responded to handle a propane leak.

Gilbert was ticketed for failure to keep right. Oakfield firefighters and Medina rescue personnel also responded to the scene.
