WARSAW — A Gainesville man arrested in April after an investigation revealed he sexually assaulted a child had a new charge filed against him last week, involving a second victim, Wyoming County sheriff’s investigators said.
Austin Bollinger, 26, appeared in Wyoming County Court last week to face a new charge of first-degree rape.
An article in Saturday’s edition incorrectly stated that Bollinger had been indicted on the new charge and that it involved the same victim as the April charges.
That was not the case.
Investigator Brad McGinnis said the new charge of first-degree rape was filed Thursday after a separate investigation involving a child under 13 years old and a rape that allegedly happened in 2015.
Bollinger appeared in County Court to waive his right to a grand jury hearing, allowing the case to proceed against him in both cases.
Bollinger was first arrested in April and charged with second-degree rape and second-degree criminal sexual act involving a child less than 15.
Bollinger is to appear Oct. 15 in County Court for motions.
