BATAVIA — A Batavia man is facing numerous charges after being arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident earlier this month on Highland Park.

Devon Wright, 18, was taken into custody about 8:54 p.m. during a traffic stop, city police said. He allegedly resisted arrest and damaged property at police headquarters.

He is accused of striking a person intentionally with his car on April 8. Police said the victim sustained some injuries during the incident but was later treated and released.

Wright was charged with first-degree attempted assault, resisting arrest, second-degree criminal nuisance, second-degree harassment, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was committed to Genesee County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Wright is to appear May 18 in City Court. City police are thanking the public for all their tips as to Wright’s whereabouts.
