BATAVIA — A Batavia man arrested earlier this month on charges that he repeatedly raped a child now faces more charges after an investigation revealed more victims.
Melvin A. Huntley, 40, of Wilkinson Road was charged Tuesday with first-degree sexual abuse of a child under 11 years old, first-degree sex abuse of a child under 13 and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Investigator Youth Officer Howard Carlson said the additional charges were filed after further investigation into another victim revealed two more children were sexually assaulted.
He said no more information was going to be released as the investigation is ongoing.
Huntley was first arrested July 8.
He was charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse.
District Attorney Lawrence Friedman said the alleged assaults happened between September 2014 and September 2019.
The predatory sexual assault charges carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and is the most serious sex-related charge under state penal law.
Huntley remains in Genesee County Jail without bail.
