STAFFORD — A Main Road man was charged with hitting a mentally disabled child numerous times, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.

James L. Thomas Jr., 47, was charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent person after an investigation into the incident Saturday.

Deputies said Thomas hit the person several times, causing pain. He is to appear Dec. 9 in Town Court.

BATAVIA — City police charged the following people during the past few weeks:

n William A. Nichols Jr., 28, of Medina was charged on a warrant with failure to appear in court.

n Michael J. Robbins, 61, of Batavia was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and conspiracy for stealing from a business on East Main Street.

n Earnest J. Reese, 74, of Batavia was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI and moving from a lane unsafely after he drove into a car parked on Bank Street.

n Cassandra F. Smith, 35, of York was charged with failing to appear in court to answer a charge of stealing property from a cemetery on Harvester Avenue.

n Aaron J. McFollins, 42, of Batavia was charged with DWI.

n Leslie R. Parris, 38, of Batavia was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI.

n Adele J. Feeley, 20, of Le Roy was charged with DWI, open container and speeding.

n Stephanie L. Coley, 39, of Brockport was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance after she was found parked on Route 98 with a crack pipe and several small bags containing an unknown white powder.

n Mandy L. Miller, 41, of Batavia was charged with second-degree arson and criminal mischief for allegedly setting fire to a carpet and door during a domestic dispute on North Spruce Street.

n Jeremy G. Ives, 46, of Batavia was charged with felony criminal mischief for causing damage to a residence on Highland Park.

n Kimberly J. Pol, 33, of Batavia was charged with DWI and failure to signal.

n Christopher C. Taylor Jr., 21, of Batavia was charged with criminal contempt of court for threatening to burn a house down.

n Marcos Velazquez, 18, of Batavia was charged with felony criminal mischief for allegedly using a baseball bat to smash out car windows during an argument with his sister.

n Jessica B. Eschenlauer, 32, of Batavia was charged with harassment for hitting a person with a wood kitchen spoon.

n Jery Riley III, 43, of Batavia was charged with criminal mischief for damaging a door.

PAVILION — Daniel J. Eastridge, 26, of Batavia was charged with felony DWI after he was stopped for speeding on his motorcycle at 6 p.m. Saturday on Telephone Road, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.

He also was charged with moving from a lane unsafely and driving to the left in a no passing zone.

OAKFIELD — Jayson L. Chamberlain, 37, of Batavia was charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny for entering a barn on Fisher Road and stealing property Oct. 6, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.

He is to appear at a later date in Town Court.

ATTICA — Jaycie E. Watson, 34, of Walton was charged with smuggling drugs in Wyoming Correctional Facility Saturday, state police said.

She was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting dangerous contraband into prison.

She was released and is to appear Oct. 18 in Town Court.

BARRE — Samuel L. Copelan, 66, of Palm Bay, FLA was charged with DWI after he was stopped at 9 p.m. Sept. 28, state police said.

He also was charged with aggravated DWI.

BYRON — Matthew J. Zon, 40, of South Byron was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, criminal mischief and felony criminal contempt of court, state police said.

He was jailed pending an appearance in Town Court.

WARSAW — Charles S. O’Donnell, 35, of North Java was charged with petit larceny for shoplifting, state police said.

He is to appear at a later date in Town Court.
