BATAVIA — A city man was jailed without bail Tuesday after he allegedly broke into a house and damaged a patrol vehicle.

David P. Grossman Sr., 37, of Maple Street broke into the house at 2:46 a.m. on Highland Park, city police said. He allegedly threatened the resident inside and damaged property.

After being taken into custody, he is then accused of damaging a patrol car.

Grossman was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. He was committed to Genesee County Jail without bail.

Grossman had been involved several hours before in a separate incident on Maple Street, police said.

Officers had received a harassment complaint at 8:32 p.m. Monday in which Grossman allegedly struck two males during an altercation. He was charged with second-degree harassment and released.

Grossman is to appear in City Court at a later date to answer the charges in both incidents.
