BATAVIA — A city man has been charged with forcibly raping a woman who had an order of protection against him, city police said.
Kyle J. Gugel, 35, was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree criminal contempt of court and second-degree burglary.
Gugel is accused of violating an order of protection by entering the woman’s home and raping her. The rape charge is a class B violent felony offense punishable by up to 25 years in state prison.
Gugel was arraigned and committed to Genesee County Jail and has since been released after posting bail.
