A city of Batavia police officer was involved in an accident in Monroe County Thursday afternoon, Chief Shawn Heubusch said.

The crash happened just after 3 p.m. with a second car. The officer was in a marked patrol car and was returning from training a the time, the chief said.

An ambulance responded and the crash is being investigated by Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.

No other details were released.
