Crashes net DWI charge

BYRON — A “rolling domestic dispute” led to DWI charges for a woman who was choked by her boyfriend after he smashed the window of her car late Wednesday.

The boyfriend also faces charges, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies were called to Swamp Road at 10:45 p.m.

Tylur T. Harper, 27, of Byron-Holley Road allegedly smashed the rear window of the car and then “applied pressure to the throat of his girlfriend” during an argument, deputies said.

Harper allegedly ran from the scene before deputies arrived.

State police, along with a K9 unit from Batavia Police Department arrived and helped track Harper from Swam Road to Byron-Holley Road, where he was found and taken into custody without incident.

Harper was charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor criminal obstruction of breathing.

He was arraigned in Town Court and released. An order of protection was issued.

His girlfriend, Elizabeth C. Lambert, 29, of Swamp Road, was charged with DWI and moving from a lane unsafely. She is to appear Oct. 18 in Town Court.
