PIKE — A Castile man with an extensive criminal history was jailed without bail after a domestic violence investigation, Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies said.
Thomas Sawdey III, 50, was taken into custody on June 18, said Deputy Austin Harding. He was charged with second-degree assault and committed to Wyoming County Jail without bail.
Sawdey has been arrested numerous times in Wyoming County for incidents often involving domestic violence.
He has served three separate prison terms stretching back to 1995, according to state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision records.
Sawdey’s most recent conviction was in 2015, when he was sentenced to 1 1/2 to three years in Willard Correctional Facility for felony criminal mischief. The charge stemmed from a domestic violence-related incident where Sawdey damaged a car during a fight with a woman.
He was later released on parole.
Sawdey is to appear in Wyoming County Court at a later date.
