Charges filed in Orangeville standoff

JAVA — A former Java man has been arrested and charged with repeatedly sexually assaulting a child, Wyoming County sheriff’s investigators said.

Nicholas B. Turnquist, 34, was arrested Wednesday after his house on Reading Road in Aurora was raided by deputies, East Aurora police and FBI agents.

Turnquist was charged with predatory sexual assault of a child, a class AII felony punishable by up to life in prison.

He was arraigned by Wyoming County Judge Michael Mohun and committed to Wyoming County Jail with bail set at $500,000.
