NEWSTEAD - An East Aurora woman under indictment in Wyoming County for driving drunk with a child in the car and nearly crashing with a patrol car was arrested Tuesday and charged with lying to police.
Rachael L. Liptak, 38, was driving on Crittenden Road when she was stopped by a state trooper for driving erattically.
Liptak was unable to provide identification and gave the trooper a fake name.
A check revealed Liptak’s license had been revoked and she was charged with false personation and may face more charges.
Liptak’s license was pulled after she was arrested in August in Gainesville.
A citizen called 911 to report a person driving erratically on Wethersfield Road, forcing other cars off the road.
A deputy arrived and was able to find the car, which was driving down the center of the road and weaving.
The deputy had to swerve to avoid a collision before the car was stopped.
Liptak failed field sobriety tests and then fought with deputies when she was told she was under arrest.
A drug recognition expert evaluated Liptak and found that she was impaired by multiple drugs.
She had a 9-year-old child in the car with her at the time.
Liptak was indicted in December for felony aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law, reckless driving, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child.
