PERRY — A man with a history of domestic violence was jailed after he allegedly shoved a woman and took her phone to prevent her from calling for help Saturday, Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies said.
Jeffrey J. Matson, 44, of Perry was charged with felony first-degree criminal contempt of court, felony aggravated family offense, endangering the welfare of a child, harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
The incident happened in front of a 5-year-old child, deputies said.
The woman had an order of protection against Matson stemming from previous incicents.
Matson was arraigned and committed to Wyoming County Jail with bail set at $2,500. He was released Monday and is to return to Town Court May 13.
