Police ask for help with shooting

BATAVIA — City police are looking for help from the public in their investigation into a shooting on South Main Street last month.

Police were called to a house on South Main Street at 1:45 a.m. Aug. 28 for a report of possible gunfire in the area.

Officers arrived and found that several shots were fired at a house. No one was injured.

Police said the people living in the house were the targets and that “this was not a random act.”

At least three people were likely involved and were captured on a surveillance camera, though the images are grainy.

Anyone with information can contact Detective Sgt. Matt Lutey at 345-6311 or submit a confidential tip to www.bataviapolice.org.
