WARSAW — A Washington DC man is facing multiple charges after a brief pursuit which began Sept. 10 in the village.

Charles Lee Griffin Jr. had been pulled over by an officer, village police said. He allegedly fled when the officer started to approach his vehicle, almost striking the officer in the process.

Griffin was pulled over again shortly afterward near Minor Road.

Griffin was charged with felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, along with driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol, third-degree fleeing a police officer, reckless driving, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle, driving to the left of pavement markings, unlicensed operation, and speeding.

Griffin is to appear Oct. 19 in Village Court. State police and Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies assisted the investigation.
