BERGEN — A Batavia man faces charges for trying to buy a gun, even though he is not eligible to purchases weapons, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.
Steven D. Kelso, 36, of Columbia Avenue was charged with first-degree falsifying business records and attempted criminal purchase of a weapon.
Deputies said the attempted purchase was made in March. He is to appear at a later date in Town Court.
BATAVIA — A Walnut Street man faces charges after he led police on a chase through the city and to his house Thursday morning, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputies were called to Social Services about 11 a.m. for a report of a man refusing to leave.
Deputies arrived but the man had left the building and drove off.
A deputy attempted to make a traffic stop but the man refused, leading police on a pursuit through the city and to a house on Walnut Street.
Blake Z.A. Culver, 24, was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and speeding.
ALEXANDER — Vicki L. Manns, 50, of Brookville Road was charged with DWI after she drove off Stroh Road Saturday night, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.
She also was charged with moving from a lane unsafely and unreasonable speed.
OAKFIELD — Michelle M. Hanssen, 54, of Middleport was charged with DWI after she crashed her car on Lewiston Road Saturday night, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.
She also was charged with aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content of more than .18 percent, failure to stop at a stop sign, moving from a lane unsafely and using a cell phone while driving.
PEMBROKE — Geoffrey M. Sequerth, 36, of Corfu was charged with DWI after he was stopped in the town Wednesday night, state police said.
He also was charged with registration suspended and aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content of more than .18 percent.
