ELBA — Call it a serious case of the “munchies.”

Genesee County sheriff’s deputies were called to Crosby’s about 3 p.m. Thursday for a report that a woman was stealing items from the store.

The woman was last seen driving south on Route 98 and deputies were able to locate the car a short time later in the town of Batavia.

Renee I. Brown, 40, of Waterport was charged with petit larceny and aggravated unlicensed operation.

She allegedly stole and was in possession of 72 packages of Starburst candy, 19 packages of Twin Pack Slim Jims and 14 packages of Jack Links XXL Original, Deputy Kenneth Quackenbush said.

Brown, who had a suspended license, is to appear Dec. 23 in Town Court.

BETHANY — A Fargo Road man faces charges for separate incidents, including a felony DWI by drugs, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.

Matthew M. Maniace, 38, had crashed his car on Sept. 8 on Prole Extension Road. An investigation led to charges of felony driving while impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of governmental administration for trying to run from deputies and moving from lane unsafely.

During the arrest Wednesday, he also was charged with petit larceny for stealing keys and a tow hitch from a truck he had agreed to repair.

He is to appear Dec. 22 in Town Court.

MEDINA — Village police charged the following people:

n Matthew D. Walker, 19, of Niagara Falls was charged with felony criminal mischief and felony criminal contempt of court.

n William Rivera Jr., 52, of Medina was charged with harassment and two counts of criminal mischief.

n Twan C. Campbell, 26, of Medina was charged with felony criminal mischief.

PERRY — Shearer Lovell, 57, of Perry was charged with DWI after he was stopped at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, state police said.

He is to appear at a later date in Town Court.
