BENNINGTON — Two people face charges after they switched seats while police were following them and attempting to pull them over on Route 354, Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputy Jordan McGinnis was on patrol Sept. 16 and saw Craig Ewert,59, of Bennington driving a vehicle that was towing a camper.
Ewert was known to have a suspended license, McGinnis said.
Ewert failed to stop and continued driving for several miles. McGinnis said him switch seats with a woman while the car was in motion. The car then stopped.
Ewert was charged with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation, reckless driving, no seat belt, unlicensed operation and failure to comply with an officer.
The woman, Laurie Boguhn, 55, of Bennington was charged with facilitating aggravated and unlicensed operation and falsely reporting an incident.
DARIEN — Cole R. Booth, 31, of Blasdell was charged with felony second-degree criminal mischief for allegedly damaging a car at Six Flags Darien Lake Aug. 14, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.
He also was charged with petit larceny for stealing the car’s license plate.
He was the second person charged in the incident.
Brock O. Doberstein, 28, of Cattaraugus was charged last week.
