LOCKPORT — A registered sex offender was arrested last week and charged in connection with the murder of a Medina woman at a Halloween party in October.
Jonathan Frey, 21, of Lockport was charged with first-degree hindering prosecution.
Frey is accused of driving two teens to a house party in Lockport on Oct. 17, where the teens allegedly fired numerous shots into a garage door.
Cheyenne Farewell, 20, was one of five people shot. She died at the scene.
Four others suffered minor wounds, including a woman from Corfu.
The two teen boys, 16 and 17, were charged with second-degree murder.
Investigators said the teens had a dispute with someone at the house and that the five people shot were random victims.
Frey is a Level 3 offender on New York State Sex Offender Registry. He was convicted of criminal sexual act against a child under 14 in 2016 and was sentenced to two years in prison.
