Sex offender violates parole again

Tidd

BATAVIA — A Level 3 “sexually violent offender” who already violated parole two times was arrested after a city police investigation revealed he had been illegally using an email address to exchange pornographic materials, solicit sex acts and create accounts on dating sites.

Alan D. Tidd Jr., 30, of Oak Street was charged with felony failure to report that he had a change in his internet email account, a violation of the state sex offender laws.

Tidd was committed to Genesee County Jail on a parole detainer.

Tidd has been in and out of prison three times since his 2009 conviction for molesting children.

Tidd was arrested in February 2009 after a state police investigation that began during an investigation into Tidd’s father.

Alan Tidd Sr., now 59, was a bus driver at Oakfield-Alabama school district when he was arrested and charged with molesting two boys.

That investigation led to charges against his son for molesting two other boys, boys that were related to his father’s victims.

Tidd Sr. was sentenced to 30 months to seven years and was released in February 2016.

A day earlier, his son was sentence to five years in prison.

Tidd Jr. violated parole twice and was returned to prison both times.

He was released June 13, 2019 and is on parole until Dec. 26, 2023.
