MEDINA — Two village residents have been arrested and charged with stealing a car early Monday morning.
One of them also was charged with stealing a second car a week earlier, village police said Thursday morning.
Police had issued an alert Monday for a report of a car stolen from a residence in the village. The theft had occurred about 7:50 a.m. Monday.
The car was recovered about four hours later in the city of Rochester, with both suspects still inside the car, police said.
Jakob Bishop, 21, and Andrienne Wissinger, 24, were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and conspiracy.
Bishop also was charged with the July 8 theft of a car, which was recovered Monday by Medina police.
Both Bishop and Wissinger were issued appearance tickets for a later date in Village Court.
Police are reminding residents to lock their car when unoccupied and not in use. They’re also advising residents not to leave their keys inside their vehicles.
