BATAVIA — A city teenager arrested earlier this month after an investigation into a hit-and-run assault now faces more felonies for allegedly sexually assaulting two children, city police said.
Devon A. Wright, 18, of Highland Park was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual act, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest.
Detective Jason Ivison said the investigation revealed Wright sexually assaulted two children under the age of 15 in November.
He said “there are believed to be more additional juvenile victims.”
District Attorney Lawrence Friedman said Wright met the alleged victims through social media.
Anyone with information can contact Ivison at (585) 345-6312.
Wright was arrested April 22 after an investigation into a hit-and-run on April 8 on Highland Park.
Wright is accused of intentionally striking a person with his car. He fled the scene, prompting police to issue alerts to the public for helping in locating him.
He was arrested during a traffic stop and charged with first-degree attempted assault, resisting arrest, criminal nuisance, harassment and two counts of criminal mischief.
