Genesee clears active cases

GENESEO — Livingston County reached a COVID-19 vaccination milestone on Monday.

A total of 50 percent of county residents have received at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine, according to state data. It’s the first county locally to reach that level, with Genesee County second at 49.2 percent, and Orleans and Wyoming counties trailing.

Eight active cases were reported Monday in Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming counties.

Here’s a county-by-county look at the data:

n Genesee County — Genesee County reported two new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, with an overall total of 5,346 cases since the pandemic began, according to county health department data.

The number of active cases remained stable at four. Total recoveries increased by two to 5,218.

New York state data indicated Monday that 28,289 or 49.2 percent of Genesee County residents have received at least one vaccine dose; 25,924 residents have completed the vaccine series, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine tracker

The county’s seven-day rolling average of positive cases was 0.2 percent, according to the state Department of Health.

n Orleans County — Orleans County reported no new cases over the weekend, with the overall total remaining at 3,097.

Three active cases were reported, marking an decrease of one since Friday. Recoveries remained stable at 3,010.

In Orleans County on Monday, 17,932 residents, or 44.2 percent of county residents, have received at least one vaccine dose; 16,320 residents have completed the vaccine series, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine tracker.

The county’s seven-day rolling average of positive cases was 0.4 percent, according to state data.

New York state reports a total of 124 COVID-19-related deaths in Genesee County and 83 deaths in Orleans County, representing no change.

n Wyoming County — Wyoming County reported no new cases on Friday, with the overall total remaining at 2,764.

The number of active cases remained stable at one. Recoveries were also stable at 2,710.

In Wyoming County on Monday, 17,908 residents, or 44.7 percent of county residents, have received at least one vaccine dose; 16,418 residents have completed the vaccine series, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine tracker.

The county’s seven-day rolling average of positive cases was 0.4 percent, according to state data.

A total of 216 people were tested Thursday, according to the state data tracker. Two tested positive.

n Livingston County — A total of 31,613 residents, or 50 percent of county residents, have received at least one vaccine dose as of Monday.

There are 29,291 residents have completed the vaccine series, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine tracker.

New York state reports 60 COVID-related deaths in Livingston County.

Eighty people were tested Sunday according to the state’s COVID dashboard. None tested positive.

The seven-day rolling average of positives is 0.4 percent, according to state data.
