BATAVIA — Two Batavia residents were taken to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo with serious injuries after an SUV struck a car this morning on Galloway Road in the town of Batavia.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office this afternoon identified the drivers as Rylend L. Callicutt, no age reported, and Danielle C. Neuhaus, no age reported.
The SUV, a GNC Suburban driven by Callicutt, was headed east on Calloway Road when it failed to keep right and struck the Neuhaus vehicle. The SUV then overturned. Callicutt said he fell asleep while driving, according to the report.
Genesee County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Jason Saile said at the scene that Callicutt was taken by ambulance to ECMC and Neuhaus by Mercy Flight to ECMC.
“We’re still waiting on hospital updates,” he said.
The accident happened around 9 a.m., according to the accident report. The Sheriff’s Office said Callicutt was ticketed for failure to keep right.
