City of Rochester police are investigating the death of a Leicester woman who was found inside a car on Tuesday morning.
The woman was identified Wednesday as Betsey Vattimo, 48, of Leicester.
Vattimo had been reported missing to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 2, police told Rochester-area media.
A preliminary investigation did not show any signs of foul play, police said.
The death is being investigated as an unattended death. An investigation into the cause of death continues.
The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office worked to identify the woman.
Rochester police officers were called to Vick Park around 5 a.m. Tuesday to check on the welfare of an individual and found the woman “obviously deceased” inside a sedan, according to media reports.
Vattimo, a graduate of the Wyoming County Community Hospital Nursing Program in Warsaw, was employed at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Batavia.
She is survived by her husband, John Vattimo, and their children, Erin, Jessica, Sean and Ryan Vattimo; her mother, Joan (James) Foster of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and brother, David (Laura) Trombley of Victor. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Trombley.
