HARRISBURG, Pa. — In the coming months, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will conduct the Vegetable Grower Inquiry Survey.

The agency plans to visit vegetable growers nationwide, including more than 4,000 in the northeast. The annual survey is obtains the final acreage, production, and value of sales for fresh and processed vegetables.

NASS gathers the data online and by phone interviews. Growers provide information on crop acreage, production, and value of sales.

NASS will compile and analyze the survey data and publish the results in a series of USDA reports, including the Annual Vegetable Release, scheduled for Feb. 1.
