The Genesee County Fair returns Saturday, so today fair association and other local officials hosted a ribbon cutting at the fairgrounds entrance on East Main Street Road.
Last year, the COVID-19 pandemic led to the fair's cancellation for the first time in 181 years. The fair that returns this weekend - and continues through July 31 - will be as close to normal as possible. Many of the favorite attractions will be back, including the midway, demolition derby and stock car racing. More than 1,000 animals are also expected.
"Every aspect of the fair will be here this year," said fair manager Nick O'Geen.
