The annual Genesee-Wyoming counties Walk to End Alzheimer’s took place today at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia.
The event is critical to the The Alzheimer’s Association of Western New York’s efforts to provide care and support for all impacted by dementia across Genesee and Wyoming counties.
Money raised by Walk participants ensures the chapter can continue to provide free education programs, support groups, respite training services, a 24/7 Helpline, research and more.
Nearly 400 individuals had registered for today's walk, which had a fundraising goal of $55,000. As of late Saturday afternoon, $53,397 had been raised.
A walk is also scheduled for Oct. 9 in Medina.
