BATAVIA — Anne E. Funston, 81, of Batavia, passed away on Saturday, (July 3, 2021) at LeRoy Village Green following a brief illness.
Mrs. Funston was born April 19, 1940, in Wyandotte, Mich., a daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie (Boddy) Benjamin.
She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and a former member of the Grand View Cemetery board of directors. She enjoyed quilting, listening to music, and spending summers in Lake Pleasant in Hamilton County.
Anne is the wife of the late David L. Funston who passed away Dec. 29, 2020.
Surviving are her children, Barbara (John) Baker of Stafford, Va., and Brian (Kristin) Funston of Golden, Colo.; grandchildren, Alison (Jeffrey) Baker Bryant, Samuel (Kayla) Baker, Elsie Baker, Jeb Baker, Margaret Funston, and Matthew Funston.
Anne is preceded in death by her brother, Donald Benjamin.
There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for both Dave and Anne on Tuesday (July 13, 2021) at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 405 East Main Street in Batavia. Anne will be laid to rest beside her husband in a private ceremony in Grand View Cemetery in Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grand View Cemetery, PO Box 581, Batavia, NY 14021 or St. James Episcopal Church.
