LE ROY — Daniel S. Gangi, age 63, of Myrtle Street, passed away Wednesday morning (March 31, 2021) at Strong Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 17, 1957, in Batavia, a son of the late Sebastian and Isabel Nelson Gangi.
Dan will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend to many. He was very devoted and passionate about his Catholic Faith. Dan was proud to say that he had visited and attended mass at all the catholic churches within the Buffalo and Rochester Dioceses. With his love for traveling, Dan would drive to Montreal and Quebec, where he would visit all the cathedrals and basilicas. Dan was also a dedicated 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as a past Grand Knight.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Naples Gangi; his children, Jennifer Gangi of Batavia and Daniel Gangi Jr. of Oakfield; step-children, Cheryl Kirshgessner and David Winling of Le Roy; grandchildren, Kalista, Owen, Arianna, Aaron, Tyler, Zachary, Anthony, Alyssa and Nikolas; stepgrandson, Chandler; his siblings, Nancy Robords of Dansville, Thomas (Sandra) Gangi of Alliance, Ohio, Joan (Quentin) Call of Stafford, Paul (Norma) Gangi of Dansville, Mary Margaret (John) Scanlan of Bergen, Steven Gangi of Elba and Judy (David) Warner of Le Roy; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Monday, April 5, from 4-7 p.m. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), Le Roy. His Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter’s Church, 44 Lake St., Le Roy. (Funeral home and Church occupancy will be limited to 50% capacity during the course of visitation/mass and face masks are required.)
