David Tallman, 74, of Silver Springs, N.Y. passed away on Nov. 6, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on Dec. 9, 1947 in Warsaw, N.Y. to the late Donald Tallman and Shirley Stephens Tallman. Along with his parents, David was predeceased by older brothers Bruce and Donald Tallman, and niece Sheri Tallman.

David was a devoted father, grandfather, and a true friend to many. He is survived by Karen George Tallman, his wife of 44 years, sons Carl (Gidget) Tallman and Kyle (Stefanie) Tallman, two special grandsons Bryce and Parker Tallman, sisters-in-laws Linda “Bonnie” Tallman and Marilynn Tallman, many nieces, nephews, friends and “adopted” family.

David was a 1966 graduate of Letchworth Central School, a 1968 graduate of Genesee Community College, former Gainesville Town Supervisor, Village of Silver Springs Trustee, and Town of Gainesville councilman. He was a member of the Silver Springs Fire & Rescue Department for 56 years, where he served as Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, Chief, and County President. David was also a 45 year member of the Oakland Masonic Lodge in Castile, N.Y.

A former driver of -43 and -16, David enjoyed racing AMCs in Perry, Holland, Chemung, and Fulton. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling, but most of all, he cherished watching his boys compete in the sports they love.

Friends may call at Robinson And Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw on Thursday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. with a Masonic Service to be held at 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. where a Firefighter’s Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. David will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery in Silver Springs, N.Y.
