Ivy V. Jedrzejek

WARSAW — Ivy V. Jedrzejek, age 90, formerly of North Maple Street, Warsaw, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 8, 2020 at the home of her caretaker and beloved granddaughter, Kaitlin Floyd in Hamburg, N.Y. Ivy was born in West Seneca, N.Y., Oct. 16, 1929, the daughter of the late Leon and Gladys Hall Wagner. A 1948 graduate of Arcade Central School, Ivy began working as a telephone operator in Arcade and continued for eighteen years. She retired from Wyoming County Community Hospital after eighteen years as a nurse’s aide. Throughout her years working, she operated her own catering business which she ran from her own kitchen. Known for her terrific sense of humor, Ivy was selfless and generous. She was a longtime caregiver to many people that she welcomed into her own home as family. Ivy was very strong in her faith to our Lord and maintained her membership with the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church in Warsaw where she had sewn over 700 dresses for Worldwide Missions.

Ivy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, John H. Jedrzejek, in 2017; her brothers, Herbert, Albert, and Harold Wagner; and a sister, Christine Cook.

Survivors include her three daughters, Elizabeth (Robert) Weatherford of Cross, S.C., Debra (Rick) Keating of Salem, Ore., Bonnie (Brian Scriven) Floyd of South Wales, N.Y.; a sister, Faith Kowalski of Lockport; a brother, Clayton (Beverly) Wagner of North Java; six grandchildren, James Karcanes, Jennifer Childs, Thomas Maimone, Andrew Maimone, Elizabeth Mattingly, and Kaitlin Floyd; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held in the Warsaw Cemetery, Tuesday, May 12, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Todd Daningburg of Warsaw’s Valley Chapel as celebrant.
