James A. Samsel, 68, of Warsaw, passed away on Jan. 21, 2022 at the Gateway Home in Attica, N.Y.
He was born Oct. 22, 1953 in Warsaw, N.Y. son of the late Joseph and Betty Crane Samsel. Jim was a self employed farmer for many years and was a National Guard veteran. He was very active in the Right for Life movement and was a past candidate for the US Senate. Jim was a member of St. Isidore’s Parish, St. Mary’s Church site. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
He was predeceased by his parents and his nephew, Jonathon Appleton.
Surviving are his siblings, Sheila Springer Micucci (James) of Attica, Roger Samsel of Hume, Donald Samsel of Warsaw, Nancy Appleton (Roger) of Perry, Linda Herrmann (the late Gary) of Warsaw; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Monday, Jan. 24 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Jim’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 25 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Silver Springs. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Online condolences at www.robinsonandhackemer.com.
