SILVER SPRINGS — June M. Caryl, 78, formerly of Silver Springs, passed away peacefully Friday, May 15, 2020 at Noyes Hospital in Dansville, New York. June was born in Dansville, Sept. 13, 1941, the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Prior Morris. She graduated from Perry High School in 1959 and chose to serve our country. June joined the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) and served from 1960-1962 earning the rank of Spec-5 (T). After her service, she returned home and began working as a clerk for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service through the USDA providing much needed loans to local farmers for over 30 years. A longtime member of Saint Mary’s Church in Silver Springs, June loved to read, crochet, garden and make anything involving crafting, often selling her wares at the former “New Farm” in Warsaw before its closing.
June was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert Caryl in 2016 and two brothers; Gordon and Wayne Morris. Survivors include two sons; Daniel (Michele) Caryl of Honeoye Falls, David (Leah Holmberg) Caryl of Le Roy, a daughter; Christina (Daniel) Sheer of Bliss, a sister; Sharron (Tom) Alfieri of Silver Springs, ten grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, a great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Silver Springs at a later date to be announced. Burial will follow in the church cemetery in Silver Springs accompanied by full military honors. Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw has arrangements.
