Lynn Galton, 84, of Gainesville, N.Y., passed away peacefully at Strong Memorial Hospital on April 23, 2021, with his loving wife of 61 years by his side. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final days. He was born June 1, 1936, in Cuba, N.Y., son of the late Ward and Gladys Beardslee Galton.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Krotz Galton; his daughters, LuAnne (Randy) Carmichael of Silver Springs, Laurie Newton of Geneseo, Marlene Mincey of Boston, N.Y.; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Perkins, Philip Mincey, Aaron Carmichael, Adam Perkins, Sam Mincey; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister, Anne O’Connell of Florida. He is the brother of the late David Galton of Pike.
In his early years, he drove truck for Robeson Cutlery and GLF. He then worked at Ricketts Farm Supply as a Parts Manager. He was a longtime farmer. In his later years, he enjoyed driving milk truck and talking to everyone on his routes.
He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed dancing, going to auctions, telling stories, taking long car rides, and singing.
