Madonna M. Zittel, 74, of Alden passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Buffalo General Hospital. Madonna was born July 25, 1946 to the late Francis & Mildred George. She married Jack Zittel on Oct. 2, 1965 and they were happily married until Jack’s passing on December 18, 2003.
Madonna is survived by three children; daughter Sheri Zittel of Alden, son James F. (Carol) Zittel of Strykersville, son Frederick (Jennifer) Zittel of Strykersville; two grandchildren Ashley (Brian) Huber of Tonawanda and James R. Zittel of Charleston, S.C. She is also survived by brothers; Norman George, Francis (Diana) George, Ronald (Rebecca J.) George, the late Lawrence (Rebecca A.) George, sister Melanie (David) Rayner, also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Madonna was devoted to her family and the love of her life, her husband, Jack. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of St. John Neumann Parish, St. Cecilia site. Madonna enjoyed going to bingo and at local fire department events you were sure to find her at the bingo tables. She was often on the telephone with family and friends near and far singing a cheerful Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary message. She will be dearly missed.
There will be no prior calling hours. The family will be holding a private service on April 27, 2021.
