SARASOTA, Fla. — Michael J. Brady. 72, died at Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton, Fla., on June 1, 2021, after a short battle with cancer.
Michael is survived by his siblings, Kathleen (Fred) Postelle of Traveler’s Rest, S.C., L. Peter (Jennifer Pace) Brady of Sarasota Fla., Kevin (Brenda) Brady of Le Roy, N.Y., Patricia Brady of Le Roy N.Y., Sheila (Dan) Dalton of Chicago, Ill., and Sheboyan (Don) Schnell of Cape Coral, Fla. He also leaves behind his stepson, Daniel Webber, and ten nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Brady (1968) and father, Louis P Brady (1983).
Michael was raised in Le Roy, N.Y., and he attended Norte Dame HS, where he played football and graduated in 1967.
Michael is a Veteran of the Vietnam War where he earned several medals. He served honorably in the Army and cared deeply for his fellow veterans during and after the war. He was often known to say. “No Soldier left behind”.
Michael lived in Ponder, Texas for a number of years moving to Sarasota, Florida in the late 1980s.
He had a very charismatic personality, knew no strangers and loved with his whole heart. He touched the hearts of many through his life with his kindness and his sense of humor and quick wit. He will be remembered lovingly by many. His love of family and friends meant the world to him. One of his most favorite pastimes was fishing especially with family at his favorite fishing hole on Siesta Key.
A memorial date will be on Oct. 1, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you send a donation to either your local Vietnam Veteran Organization or to the Patricia Ault Brady Scholarship fund at SUNY Genesee Community College, One college Rd. Batavia N.Y. 14020.
